This article provides an understanding of Funds and explains how Funds are Viewed/Opened, Edited/Updated, and Deleted. In addition, Bulk Action updates are also covered in this article.
 
To get to Funds, select General Financials > Funds - from the main menu on the left side of the screen.
 
 
View/Open
To view or open a fund register, find the fund you wish to open, by searching or filtering for the fund.
 
Open or view the fund register by selecting the corresponding fund register icon  for the record you wish to view.
 
 
This will open the record for you to view.
 
Once in the Fund Register, you can open or view a transaction by selecting the open icon.
 
 
Overview
When you are in the Funds listing you can see all your funds, their type, their category their balance and their description.
 
 
When you are in the Fund Register you can see all the transactions for the selected fund.
 
 
Functionality of Funds
You can add a new Fund by selecting the "Add A New Fund" button. For more help on adding a Fund please see KB Article - Add Funds.
 
You can export your funds list by selecting the Export option, which downloads a CSV file.
 
You can view all fund transfers from the General Financials > Fund Transfers menu item.
 
You can search for a fund by name by using the search box.
 
When you are in the Fund Register:
 
  • You can filter the fund register by selecting the "Filter List" button.
  • You can export your transactions by selecting the "Export List" button.
  • You can return to your funds listing by selecting the "Fund List" button.
 
 
Edit/Update
Once you are in the Fund listing, you can Edit/Update a fund as needed. These are the fields that can be edited/updated:
 
 
To edit a fund, click its open icon to open the fund record, make your changes, and save.
 
When you are in the Fund Register, simply open a transaction by clicking on the corresponding open icon to Edit/Update a transaction as needed. These are the fields that can be edited/updated:
 
 
To update any of these fields simply click the drop downs or use the "Lookup" buttons to search for and select the new field values. When you've finished updating the record, click either the "Save All Changes & Continue" button to save and continue working or the "Save All Changes & Exit" button to save and go back to the Fund Register.
 
Delete
Anytime you see a delete button  you can delete the corresponding record. To delete any record in Argenta, simply click the "Delete" button. A pop-up window will ask if you are sure you want to delete the record. Select "Yes" and the record will be deleted. Be very careful, deletion is a final action and can not be undone.
 
Here are all the places you can delete information in Funds:
 
  • A Fund - Only if the fund has no transactions. Be very careful, deletion is a final action and can not be undone. 
  • Transaction in Fund Register. Be very careful, deletion is a final action and can not be undone.
 
Bulk Action
In addition to the regular viewing and editing, you can also do bulk updates. Bulk updates is a way to bulk reconcile transactions for a fund. When you are in the Fund Register screen, you can filter the list to select the records you wish to bulk update. To select the records you wish to bulk update place a check mark in the corresponding box to mark this record. 
 
 
Once you have the transactions selected that you wish to bulk reconcile, you will select the drop down menu for "Choose Bulk Action for Selected Records" and choose the "Mark Selected Transactions Reconciled". Then select the "Run Bulk Action" button to perform the action and mark the selected transactions as reconciled.
