What is a Grantor in Argenta?

A Grantor is an organization or entity that provides grant funding to your organization.

Examples of Grantors

  • Private foundations (Ford Foundation, Gates Foundation)
  • Community foundations
  • Corporate giving programs
  • Government agencies (federal, state, local)
  • United Way and federated funders

Grantor Records

Each grantor has a record in Argenta that tracks:

  • Organization name and contact information
  • Grantor type (Foundation, Government, Corporate, etc.)
  • All grants received from this grantor
  • Contact history and notes

Grantor vs Constituent

Grantors are separate from regular constituents because they represent funding relationships rather than individual donors.

Navigate to: Grant Management > Grantors

Creating a Grantor

Add new grantors before creating grant records so you can associate grants with the correct funder.
