How to Export Data to Excel

Most list pages in Argenta let you download what you are looking at:

  1. Navigate to the list you want to export (Constituents, Donations, etc.)
  2. Apply any filters first, because the export follows them
  3. Click Export to CSV, which on a few pages is labeled Export List

  4. The file arrives as a CSV, which opens in both Excel and Google Sheets

What gets exported:

  • All records currently displayed (after filters), and any record locked to you comes through with only its ID and name, every other cell blank, plus a Locked Record ID column naming it
  • Standard fields for that record type

Report pages work differently. Many reports also offer Export To Excel (check the buttons above the results), and that one builds a real formatted workbook rather than a plain data file.

Note: Your user account must have the Can Export Lists To Excel permission. If you don't see an export option, contact your system administrator. That permission is still named for Excel even though most lists now hand you a CSV.
