Argenta lets you build a text list and send a bulk SMS text message to everyone on it. First you create a text list, then you send your message from the Text Messaging workspace. Argenta partners with Twilio for texting and only sends to people who have opted in.

1. Create a Text List

The quickest way is to pull a group straight from a constituent grid.

1. Open the grid you want, for example Constituents > Donors from the left menu, and filter it to the people you want to text.
2. Select the records: check the ones you want, or use the checkbox at the top to select them all.
3. From the bulk actions menu, choose Create A New Mailroom List With Selected Records and run it.
4. In the Add A New Mail Room List window, turn on Text (SMS), enter a Mail List Title, and click Add This List.

People who have opted out of texts are left off automatically. You can also build a text list by hand from the Mail Room under Manage Mailing Lists, the same way you build any list.

2. Send a Bulk Text to the List

1. In the left menu, open Text Messaging, then Send Text Messages. (Twilio needs to be connected first, which is a one-time setup.)
2. Type your message in the Type Your Text Message Here box.
3. Click Send To A Text List, then pick your list under Select A Text List.
4. Review the recipients in the preview. Use the Include "No Solicit" Constituents In List toggle only if you need to include people flagged No Solicit.
5. Click Send Text To This List.

Checking Delivery

Argenta keeps a delivery log so you can see the results of your texts. Use the Results menu on the Send Text Messages page to open Delivery Results, or check the Delivery Log and Unsubscribes in the Text Messaging workspace.

Text Messaging Compliance

You guarantee that you are aware that, among other requirements, the TCPA and CTIA rules require prior express written consent from a consumer before you can send them marketing text messages, and such consent must be unambiguous (that is, the consumer must receive a clear and conspicuous legal disclosure). Damages for each message sent in violation of the TCPA are $500, and can be $1,500 if the violation is proven to be "willful and knowing." If for any reason Argenta suspects that your constituents received text messages contrary to any governing rules, it reserves the right to request a written explanation from you, the client, including the method of collecting the constituents' phone numbers and a guarantee signed by you that all the people on your subscriber list agreed to receive text messages from you of the type that you had sent. Argenta reserves the right to take any action it thinks appropriate in the case of non-compliance, including but not limited to cancellation of your account.
