Recurring donations are typically created when a donation is made by a donor, on a public donation form. This happens if the user selects "make donation recurring".

 

Argenta users can create a recurring transaction in their instance, that won't automatically be processed through ecommerce. An example of this would be if you have a donor who has committed to sending you a check once per month and you want to keep track of that commitment. When you open a donation, you can see whether it's recurring or not, right away.
