Closing an Event means closing the public registration/ticket sales form so that it's no longer available. You can close an event at any time by change the status of an event from "Registration Open" to "Registration Closed". Only "Registration Open" allows users to register for or purchase tickets to an event.
There are a few settings in an event that will determine when the event's registration period ends, automatically.
- The Open Registration Date
- The current date and time must be after the open registration date and time for the public form to be open.
- The Closed Registration Date
- The current date and time must be before the close registration date and time for the public form to be open.
- If you have set a Max Number of Guests and the number of registrations has reached that number, the public form will be closed, automatically.
- If you are selling tickets to an event, you typically create tickets in groups on the Ticket Types tab.
- You can set a Start and End Sales Date for each of your ticket types. If the current date isn't within that range, that ticket type will no longer be available. When all ticket types reach their sales end date, the public form will close, automatically.
- You can set a Max Number Available for each Ticket Type. When the max number is reached that ticket type will no longer be available. When all ticket types are sold out, the public form will close, automatically.
