Add Volunteers

Return To The Knowledge Base

A Volunteer is any individual, organization or household who belongs to your organization by volunteering. Volunteers are first created as Constituents in Argenta and then assigned as volunteers.

From the Argenta main menu on the left hand side of the screen choose Volunteer Management> Volunteers.

Click the "Add A New Volunteer" button. This will pop up the Add A New Volunteer Window...

Select the corresponding Constituent. If the Constituent is already in the system, click the "Look Up" button and select a Constituent by searching and selecting them. If the Constituent is not in the system, you can add them by clicking the "Add A New Constituent" button. If you need help adding a constituent, see KB Article Add Constituents

The Constituent ID field will display the ID for the selected constituent, and their name will be displayed to the right of that. Make sure you have selected the constituent you want to designate as a volunteer.

Select the date this member became active by using the "Start Date" date picker or just entering the date. This field is required.

Next, you can log your first contact with the volunteer by entering information into the Log First Contact field. Each volunteer has a contact log, which can contain as many items as needed. Adding a contact log item is not required.

You may also need to enter some notes about the new volunteer . You can do so by entering text into the Notes field. Each volunteer has a notes list, which can contain as many notes as needed. Notes is not a required field.
