Discussion Threads
The discussion system lets your team have threaded conversations — like a message board — right inside Argenta. There are three places you can find discussions:
- Team Member Discussions — under Communication in the sidebar. Open to all team members.
- Board Member Discussions — under Communication in the sidebar. Restricted to board members only.
- Project Discussions — inside any Project Workspace, under the Project Discussions menu item.
Starting a New Thread
Click the New Thread button at the top of the page. Select a category and type your discussion topic using the rich text editor (you can format text, add images, etc.). Click Post Thread to publish it.
Replying to a Thread
Click any thread to expand it and see the full topic and all replies. Click Add a Reply at the bottom to open the reply editor. Type your response and click Reply.
All participants in the thread (the original poster and anyone who has replied) will receive an email notification automatically — no need to manually select recipients.
Searching Discussions
Use the search bar to find threads by topic content, author name, or category. Type your search term and click the search icon or press Enter. A count shows how many threads match your search.
Sorting Threads
Use the sort buttons above the thread list:
- Newest — threads sorted by creation date (newest first)
- Recent Activity — threads with the most recent replies bubble to the top
- Most Replies — threads with the most responses first
Pinned Threads
Admins can pin important threads so they always appear at the top of the list, regardless of sort order. Pinned threads display a gold "Pinned" banner. To pin or unpin a thread, expand it and click the Pin or Unpin button (admin only).
Editing and Deleting
You can edit or delete your own replies using the Edit and Delete buttons below your comment. Admins can edit or delete any reply. Thread authors and admins can delete entire threads, which also removes all replies.
Locked Threads
If a thread is locked by an admin, no new replies can be added. Locked threads display a lock icon in the thread list.
