Constituent Groups in Argenta allow you to group people together for organizational purposes separate from mailing lists. Use groups to track committees, families, companies, or any custom grouping.

What Are Constituent Groups?

Constituent Groups are flexible containers for organizing people. Unlike mailing lists (which are for communication), groups are for organizational purposes:

  • Board of Directors
  • Committee members
  • Families or households
  • Corporate contacts from one company
  • Event planning teams
  • Advisory councils

Accessing Constituent Groups

  1. Go to Constituents
  2. Click on Constituent Groups
  3. View all defined groups

Creating a Constituent Group

  1. Navigate to Constituent Groups
  2. Click Add New
  3. Enter a Group Name
  4. Select a Group Type (Committee, Family, Company, etc.)
  5. Add a description
  6. Save the group

Adding Members to a Group

  1. Open the Constituent Group
  2. Go to the Members or Constituents tab
  3. Click Add
  4. Search for and select the constituent(s)
  5. Optionally assign a role within the group (Chair, Secretary, etc.)
  6. Save the additions

Viewing Groups on a Constituent Record

  1. Open any constituent record
  2. Look for the Groups or Constituent Groups tab
  3. View all groups the person belongs to

Group Roles

Assign roles within groups to identify:

  • Leaders (Chair, President)
  • Officers (Secretary, Treasurer)
  • Regular members
  • Custom roles specific to your organization
