Argenta allows you to track skills for constituents, volunteers, staff members, and others. This helps you find people with specific abilities when you need them.
What Is Skills Tracking?
Skills tracking lets you record what people can do - their talents, certifications, languages, and expertise. This makes it easy to:
- Find volunteers with specific skills for tasks
- Match staff to projects requiring certain expertise
- Track certifications and qualifications
- Build a database of your organization's capabilities
Accessing Skills on a Record
- Open a constituent record (Volunteer, Staff Member, Member, etc.)
- Look for the Skills tab
- View all skills assigned to that person
Adding Skills to a Person
- Navigate to the Skills tab on their record
- Click Add New or Assign Skills
- Select skills from the list
- Optionally add proficiency levels or notes
- Save the assignment
Managing the Skills List
- Go to Classification Codes
- Find the Skills category
- Add new skills your organization needs to track
- Organize into categories if desired
Finding People by Skill
- Go to the relevant list (Volunteers, Staff, etc.)
- Click Filter List
- Look for the Skills filter option
- Select the skill(s) you need
- Apply the filter to see matching people

- Languages: Spanish, French, Sign Language
- Technical: Excel, Social Media, Graphic Design
- Professional: Legal, Medical, Accounting
- Trade: Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing
- Certifications: CPR, First Aid, Food Handling

- Ask about skills during onboarding
- Update skills regularly
- Use consistent skill names
- Include proficiency levels when relevant
