Who Can Be an Ambassador?

Typically, ambassadors are existing constituents—often current members, donors, or volunteers who introduced someone to your organization.

Reporting on Ambassadors

Use ambassador data to:

  • List all members recruited by a specific person
  • Identify top recruiters
  • Calculate recruitment rates
  • Support referral incentive programs

Ambassador vs Solicitor

  • Ambassador: Refers new members to the membership program
  • Solicitor: Asks for donations (used in fundraising)

The same person could be both, but these track different types of engagement.

Recognizing Ambassadors

Consider thanking ambassadors when their referrals join:

  • Send a thank you note
  • Recognize in newsletters
  • Include in member appreciation events
  • Offer small incentives or rewards
