What is a Material Distribution?

A distribution records giving materials to a recipient:

  • Food box distribution from a food pantry
  • Clothing provided to a family
  • School supplies given to students
  • Emergency supplies distributed after a disaster

Accessing Distributions

Navigate to: Materials > Material Distributions

Creating a Distribution

  1. Click Add New
  2. Select the recipient:
    • Search for existing constituent
    • Or add a new recipient
  3. Enter distribution details:
    • Distribution Date: When items were given
    • Type and Category: Classification
    • Status: Complete, pending, etc.
    • Description: What was distributed
  4. Optionally assign a team member who handled the distribution
  5. Save

Adding Items to Distribution

  1. Open the distribution record
  2. Add specific items distributed
  3. Enter quantities
  4. Items are removed from inventory automatically

Tracking Impact

Distributions help you report on:

  • Number of people/families served
  • Value of materials distributed
  • Types of assistance provided
  • Geographic reach

Distribution Payments

If recipients pay any amount (sliding scale fee, copay, etc.), record this through Material Distribution Payments.
