Argenta distinguishes between Participants and Members in programs, each serving a different purpose.
Program Participants
Participants are the people who receive services from your program:
- Clients, beneficiaries, or service recipients
- Students in educational programs
- Mentees in mentoring programs
- Individuals receiving assistance
Program Members
Members are constituents who have a membership association with your program:
- Paid or registered members of program-based memberships
- Organizational members affiliated with the program
- Different from participants who receive services
When to Use Each
Use Participants when tracking service recipients, measuring program outcomes, or recording who you serve.
Use Members when tracking membership enrollment, managing dues-paying members, or organizing affiliate relationships.
Both Can Coexist
A program can have both participants and members. For example, a community center program might have participants (people attending classes) and members (people who pay annual membership fees).
