If you would like to hold a discussion with your team members and keep a permanent record of it, Argenta has a module for this. Team Member Discussions lets your team categorize and keep internal conversations in one secure place. It is Argenta's built-in solution for internal communications. For the purposes of this section, a Team Member is any Argenta User.

Opening Team Member Discussions
From the main menu on the left side of the screen, open the Communication section and select Team Member Discussions.

Starting a discussion
Click the "New Thread" button at the top of the screen. The "Start a New Discussion" form will open. Choose a category for your discussion. Categories are classification codes, and Argenta comes loaded with logical ones to get you started. You can add or change them at any time from the Classification Codes menu on the left side of the screen.

Enter your discussion in the text editor, using the formatting buttons as needed, then click the "Post Thread" button. Your discussion will appear in the list with your photo (if you have uploaded one into Argenta), the category, the date you began it, and the discussion body. Team members who take part in a thread are notified automatically when there is new activity, so there is no separate notification step to set.

Reading and replying to a discussion
Click on a discussion in the list to expand it and read the thread. To add to the conversation, click "Add a Reply", type your point into the text editor (with the same formatting buttons), and click the "Reply" button. Your reply will appear in the thread with your photo, the date, and your content.

Editing and deleting
You can edit your own post using the "Edit Thread" button. Only the user who posted it (or an administrator) can edit it. This maintains the integrity of the record, so your users can feel confident that discussions attributed to them have not been changed by someone else.

If you need to delete your own post, click the corresponding delete icon. You will be asked to confirm, since the deletion is permanent. Click "Yes" to permanently delete it.
