You can create classification codes for the needs your organization has for its volunteers. Volunteer needs is a simply way to see what needs your organization has. Volunteer needs can be created two ways, the first, is by classification codes and the second is by volunteerism module. To create a new volunteer need by classification code, use the Argenta Main Menu, left-hand side and select Classification Codes.
This will open the customizable classification code screen. Scroll to the end and select "Volunteer Needs."
This will open the complete listing of volunteer need classification codes your organization has. From here select the "Add New" button.
This will open the Add A New Volunteer Need window where you will type in a name for your new need. Click the "Add This Classification Code" button to add the new code and be returned to the full list of volunteer needs your organization has.
View The Total Number Of Records
Above the list is a records total that displays the total of all items currently displayed in the list. This is a quick and easy way to count list items.
Search The List
All classification code lists can be searched by the code’s title. Enter the title of the code you are looking for into the search field to search the list.
Export The List To Excel
Argenta contains many reports, charts, graphs, and statements, but it may be necessary to manipulate your own data. You can work with your data anyway you want by exporting it to Excel. Every List in Argenta has an “Export To Excel” button above the list. Clicking the button exports the data currently displayed in the list to Microsoft Excel. If you have filtered the data by specific criteria, only the result set will be exported.
To Remove A Volunteer Needs
In the volunteer needs list, click the corresponding “Delete” button to remove the volunteer need from Argenta. Volunteer Needs that are in use cannot be deleted. You will receive an alert indicating that you cannot delete the volunteer need because it has been used to classify a volunteer need. If you still want to delete it, you must find the volunteers associated with it, and reclassify all associated volunteers, then trying again to delete it.
