Classification Codes, Working with Membership Sources

Return To The Knowledge Base

A Member is any individual, organization or household who belongs to your organization through a membership. Members are first created as Constituents in Argenta and then assigned as members.

A membership source refers to the method through which a lead/prospect or constituent came to become a member. Argenta comes loaded with common membership sources to help you get started, but you can change them at any time. You can add or delete any membership source by selecting Membership > Membership Sources from the Argenta main menu on the left hand side of the screen.

View The Total Number of Records

Above every list is a pink label that displays the total of all items currently displayed in the list. This is a quick and easy way to count list items.

Search The List

All classification code lists can be searched by the code's title. Enter the title of the code you are looking for into the search field to search the list.

Export The List To Excel

Argenta contains many reports, charts, graphs and statements, but it may be necessary to manipulate your own data. You can work with your data anyway you want by exporting it to Excel. Every List in Argenta has an "Export List To Excel" button above the list. Clicking the button exports the data currently displayed in the list to Microsoft Excel. If you have filtered the data by specific criteria, only the result set will be exported.

To Add A Membership Source

Click the "Add A New Membership Source" button above the list.

The "Add A New Membership Source" window will come up...

Add Classification Codes in Argenta

Type a name for your membership source and click the "Add This Membership Source" button.

The window will close and the new membership source will display in the list.

To Remove A Membership Source

In the membership sources list, click the corresponding "Delete" button to remove the membership source from Argenta. Membership sources that are already in use cannot be deleted. You will receive an alert indicating that you cannot delete the membership source because it has been used to classify a member. If you still want to delete it you can find the members associated with it by filtering the members list, reclassifying all associated members, then trying again to delete the membership source.
