Add Leads/Prospects

A Lead or Prospect is a prospective consumer of a product/service or a potential contributor to a nonprofit organization. A lead is created when an individual or business shows interest and provides contact information. Your organization may gain access to a lead through advertising, trade shows, direct mailings or any other marketing efforts.


From the Argenta main menu on the left hand side of the screen choose Sales and Marketing > Leads/Prospects.


Click the "Add A New Lead" button. This will redirect you to the "Add A New Lead/Prospect" screen.

 

 

Enter the "Active Date", the date the lead was entered into the system or the date the lead should be designated as active. This is a required field.

 

Select the corresponding Constituent. If the Constituent is already in the system, click the "Look Up" button and select a Constituent by searching and selecting them. If the Constituent is not in the system, you can add them by clicking the "Add A New Constituent" button. (for help see KB Article, Add Constituents)

 

The Constituent ID field will display the ID for the selected constituent, and their name will be displayed to the right of that. Make sure you have selected the constituent you want to designate as a lead/prospect.

 

If the lead/prospect is assigned to a specific member of your team such as a board member, a staff member or a volunteer, select the corresponding affiliate from the "Assigned To (Team Member)" drop down list. This is a required field, but If there is no designated team member you can select "Unassigned *" from the drop down list.

 

Select A Lead Source from the drop down list. This is a required field. Argenta comes loaded with lead sources you can use. If you want to add a new lead source you can do so right here on this screen by clicking the "Add New" button next to the "Lead Source" drop down list. This will pop up a window, allowing you to type a new lead source. When the window closes the new lead source will be selected.

 

Leads/Prospects can be associated to a sales and marketing campaign. To associate a campaign select the corresponding campaign in the "Associated Campaign" drop down list. If you want to add a new campaign you can do so right here on this screen by clicking the "Add New" button next to the "Campaign" drop down list. This will pop up a window, allowing you to type a new campaign. When the window closes the new campaign will be selected. This is a required field but you can select "No Associated Campaign".

 

Select A Lead Category from the drop down list. This is a required field. Argenta comes loaded with lead categories you can use. If you want to add a new lead category you can do so right here on this screen by clicking the "Add New" button next to the "Lead Category" drop down list. This will pop up a window, allowing you to type a new lead category. When the window closes the new lead category will be selected.

 

Select An Industry Type from the drop down list. This is a required field. Argenta comes loaded with industry types you can use. If you want to add a new industry type you can do so right here on this screen by clicking the "Add New" button next to the "Industry Type" drop down list. This will pop up a window, allowing you to type a new industry type. When the window closes the new industry type will be selected.

 

Select A Lead Status from the drop down list. This is a required field. Argenta comes loaded with lead status codes you can use. If you want to add a new lead status code you can do so right here on this screen by clicking the "Add New" button next to the "Lead Status/Final Outcome" drop down list. This will pop up a window, allowing you to type a new lead status code. When the window closes the new lead status code will be selected.

 

Select a Lead Weight from the drop down list. Lead Weights are used to rate a lead's potential for conversion. Lead weights include cold, warm and hot. This is a required field, but you can select unweighted.

 

The "Financial Information" field is an open text box. Enter any acquired financial information about the lead/prospect in this field. This field is not required.

 

Use the contact log section to log the first contact made with the new lead. Specify the date contact was made and the details of the conversation. These fields are not required.

 

The Notes field is an open text box. Make as many notes as necessary. This field is not required.

 

Click the "Add This Lead" button. This will redirect you to the main Lead's List. The lead you entered will be displayed in descending date order by active date.
