RANGER ASSIST PROGRAM

Ranger Assists provide USACE Rangers/Interns with support during 30 – 60 minute programs.  The volunteer first assures they have a program SACCA pack – 10-15 brochures, Charter Member stickers and Dam Stickers – and a SACCA Volunteer Vest.

Meet the ranger at the program site 15 minutes prior to the program.  Greet guests until the ranger/intern arrives.  Take ranger direction and offer guest assistance.  Promote USACE and SACCA Missions when appropriate.  At the end of the program offer brochures and sell either sticker for $5 per person – for memberships please accept an application and mark it paid if appropriate.  You are accountable to assure all money is submitted and unsold stickers.  You should have completed applications for Charter Members unless they demonstrate they paid online.  (If a person honestly says they cannot afford a $5 membership, accept a completed application and note accordingly – a Board Member will pay the $5 membership fee for this person.)

Remember, SACCA is an independent official non-profit partner of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and excepting our non-profit role, we comply with USACE policies, procedures, and direction.  We must dress appropriately.  (USACE feels I should not wear shorts and sandals for work parties in nature.)
